Faunts – M4

Involuntarily – that is to say without realizing it – you’re in a spiraling end credits for a film. This is the Faunt’s follow up to High Expectations/Low Results.

Faunt’s mastery of the build up is reminiscent of GodSpeed You Black Emperor! - capitalizing on the subtle nature of the almost there ambience that erupts into a cataclysmic synth track. For an EP, M4 is the stuff of Depeche Mode or Radiohead warping through a slow-moving dreamscape. At 40 minutes this could background a lecture in art class. If Dali were alive he would listen, while shoegazing.
