Smashed Chair
Ghostland Observatory - Robotique Majestique

Before anything remotely intelligent is said about Ghostland Observatory's album, I have to say that there are many MegaMan synth tracks that take me back to the days of playing 8-bit games.

Phew! With that out of the way, lets crack open these pair of neon spandex pants.

Some songs are semblances of remixes of tracks that appeared two tracks earlier. Other tracks pay definite homage to Queen and it's sorta-still-alive-in-spirit front man Freddy Mercury. It's a dance album that gets mixed with the wrong crowd - like succumbing to peer pressure in the 80s, sometimes we just have to say no. Tracks like HFM are reasons why editors/mixers get fired and that rambunctious feeling of energy meets showmanship can be felt, but it all feels a bit messy. "No Place For Me" has a synth that eggs me on, making me want to start a fight with people who wear backwards hats and can't dance - whatever. It's all a choreographed number that feels very 90s trying to be 80s in this millennium.
